CASEY Scorpions have defeated Port Melbourne by 35 points at Casey Fields on Sunday.  

Casey 12.14 (86) defeated Port Melbourne 7.9 (51) to continue its fantastic 2016 season.

The Scorpions remain on top of the ladder, having lost just one match for the season from its nine rounds.

Hard-nut Ben Kennedy, featuring in his first match with Casey, after playing in the first 10 rounds for Melbourne, was outstanding with 30 disposals and three goals.

Ball-winner Ben Newton claimed 27 disposals, after playing for Melbourne in rounds nine and 10.

Former co-captain Jack Grimes and rookie Mitch White notched up 24 disposals each.

Midfielder Alex Neal-Bullen, who like Newton played for Melbourne in rounds nine and 10, collected 23 touches.  

Young tall Liam Hulett, utility Dean Terlich and big man Jake Spencer all booted two goals each.

Speedster Jay Kennedy-Harris, who has missed most of the season with a hamstring injury, returned to collect 12 disposals.

Casey hosts Collingwood at Casey Fields on Saturday at 2.10pm.
