THE AHG Big Freeze 2 proved to be an outstanding success, on the back of the inaugural campaign in 2015.

Held before Melbourne’s win over Collingwood at the MCG on Queen’s Birthday, the AHG Big Freeze 2 was again one of the genuine pre-match highlights of the season.

AHG, Melbourne’s principal partner, raised $82,250 for the Cure for MND Foundation, which was raised through an online raffle to win a new Toyota Hilux – valued at $52,000.

Matt Hutton from Greensborough was the winner of the Hilux, which will be a massive help to his job, as he installs commercial playgrounds for kids. He is a Melbourne member and a lifelong fan with his dad, John.

Former Melbourne coach and Cure for MND Foundation champion Neale Daniher said he was extremely grateful for AHG’s ongoing support of the Big Freeze campaign.

“It’s very rare to see an organisation get involved in a campaign like this and donate 100 per cent of all money raised,” he said.

“AHG wanted to get behind the cause to ensure all money raised through their online raffle went towards MND research.

“To have such a great prize on offer and to support the campaign the way they did, the whole foundation were blown away by their support. Thank you to all AHG dealerships and staff for getting behind the cause and the public for purchasing their raffle tickets.”

AHG managing director Bronte Howson praised Daniher and the foundation.

“We’ve been delighted to be able to play a part in the foundation’s work over the past two years, through the funds raised from the car raffles and the awareness, [plus the] publicity and donations generated by the AHG Walk to the G,” he said.

“Neale is quite obviously an inspiration to so many people. The Queen’s Birthday fixture is a major event that forms part of AHG’s principal partnership with the Melbourne Football Club.

“It was a very strategic decision to focus our activation on that day on the campaign to Freeze MND.”

AHG, and its automotive dealerships and logistics business units, support more than 300 community and charitable organisations across Australia and New Zealand.
