THE MELBOURNE Football Club wishes to advise that Brett Allison will be departing the Club after three years of service. 

Melbourne has undertaken a restructure of the player development department and Brett’s contract will not be extended beyond this year. 

General Manager of Football Josh Mahoney said the Brett has played a major role in the development of our younger players and has strengthen our partnership with the Casey Scorpions. 

"During his time with us, Brett has been part of our development team which has worked really hard on educating our players on the demands of AFL and the importance of the fundamentals of the game. 

"Brett has been an integral part of building stronger relationships with the Casey Scorpions and has played a significant role educating the Casey listed players on our game style and their roles within the team. The proof of this has been the performance of the VFL team this season which Brett has played a large role in their improved performance. 

“I know that everyone who has worked with Brett knows that he is a great Club man, who not only fully commits himself but also his family to the football Club. 

"On behalf of all players, coaches and staff at the Melbourne Football Club,  we would like to thank Brett and his family for their contribution to the Club and we wish them well for the future.

Brett will continue in his capacity as assistant coach of the Casey Scorpions for this week’s Grand Final against Footscray.
